His entry into the fray represented Chalobah’s competitive Chelsea debut, having originally signed for the club way, way back in 2012.
The now-21-year-old midfielder had not made a single senior appearance for the Blues since that day four years ago – finding himself farmed out on loan season after season after season.
The magnitude of the substitution was not missed by the man he replaced…
