Chelsea have sought to quickly draw a line under the rumbling Kepa Arrizabalaga-saga by metering out swift and just punishment to the Spanish goalkeeper.
Kepa, as you well know, refused to be substituted during the final throes of the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, driving manager Maurizio Sarri to pitchside apoplexy in the process.
The Blues have since fined the 24-year-old ‘keeper to the tune of one week’s wages, with the money being donated directly to the club’s in-house charitable foundation.
It is also being reported that Kepa is likely to retain his place in the starting XI for Wednesday night’s Premier League derby against Tottenham.
Let that be an end to it (…we say more in hope than expectation).
