Eden Hazard scored twice as Chelsea sauntered to a 2-0 win over West Ham on Monday night that hoisted them back up into the top four at Arsenal’s expense.

The opener came after 24 minutes, with Hazard moving through the entire Hammers defence like a fine mist before slotting a prim finish past Lukasz Fabianski…

Hazard then rounded things off in the final minute of normal time – a goal which saw the Belgian (85 goals) finally move past Cristiano Ronaldo (84) in the overall Premier League scoring charts.

The difference being that it took Ronaldo 196 games to reach his tally by the age of 23, while Hazard is now 28-years-old and some 240 games in.

Still, what is abundantly clear is that Chelsea are going to be almost entirely bereft of mercurial, match-altering, “sod it, I’ll do it on my own” flair if/when Hazard scarpers at the end of the season.

Typical Hazard. A moment of pure genius here and there just to go missing during the next three games. Anyway, he’s too good for Chelsea. He should have left a few years ago.
