In Pictures: Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal, Premier League – We All Saw This Coming

By Ollie Irish

“Sunday bloody Sunday… It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn’t it? You wake up in the morning, you’ve got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you’ve got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think “Sunday bloody Sunday!”

Super Sunday (grrr) was predictably super for the Chelsea Machine, and predictably frustrating for Arsenal, who without Cesc Fabregas, Thomas Vermaelen and Robin van Persie must have known what was coming at the Bridge. Still, rarely has such a predictable contest been settled by two such brilliant goals – first the Drog’s inspired pirouette, then Alex’s brutal swervedriver (see photo above). And the thing is, Arsenal actually played well and should have taken the lead. Oh well. Chelsea will not be stopped.
