He might not be able to get a consistent game for Chelsea, but Callum Hudson-Odoi has been called into the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers at Wembley.

Hudson-Odoi has received his first senior international call-up before making the Premier League start of his career, nascent as it may be.

Indeed, the 18-year-old winger was originally called into the Under-21 squad (for whom he is also yet to win his first cap) but has now been fast-tracked into the seniors for their games against Czech Republic and Montenegro to cover the spate of injury withdrawals that came earlier today.

This is all unlikely to sit well with Blues manager Maurizio Sarri who has spent the past couple of months and weeks bemoaning the hype and expectation being lumped on Hudson-Odoi’s young shoulders.

That sound you can here is the furious chain-smoking of 20 Lambert & Butlers, each cigarette seen off in one irate drag.
