Roughly 10,800 seconds after putting Sweden to the sword with a couple of cracking headers, Andriy Shevchenko was involved in a minor car crash that saw the Ukraine doyen and his pregnant lady wife rear-ended by a Jeep while driving back to the national team’s training base.

According to Ukrainian news agency ‘Ukraine 2012’, Shevchenko’s Porsche was buffeted from behind while slowing at a pedestrian crossing, though no-one involved required any medical attention – in fact, it would appear that Sheva proceeded to spend the next 15 minutes signing autographs for passers-by rather than exchanging insurance details.

Carry on.
