Everton 3-1 Swansea City – FA Cup 5th Round – 16th February 2014
Everton booked their place in the last eight of the Cup courtesy of a deserved 3-1 win at home to Swansea. Giant striker Lacina Traore opened the scoring after just four minutes, courtesy of a deft backheel, but the Swans were level soon after Jonathan De Guzman headed home.
The Toffees continued to create chances but didn’t find another goal until after the hour-mark, when sub Steven Naismith made the most of a bad back-pass from Neil Taylor to double the hosts’ advantage before Leighton Baines sealed the deal late on from the penalty spot. Everton now face Arsenal at the Emirates in the last eight.
