Photos: Everton 5-1 Hull, Premier League – Arteta Back To Glorious Best, Landon Donovan Says ‘Byeee’

By Ollie Irish

Who knows where Everton might sit in the league now had Mikel Arteta been fit for the whole campaign? Higher than eighth, that’s for sure. The Spaniard was back to his supreme best on Sunday, running the show in a way that Everton’s other midfielders – as good as they are – simply can’t.

Hull were pants, admittedly, and look 90% certs for the drop, unless they can figure out how to defend.

In other news, Landon Donovan waved goodbye to Everton’s fans, with a goal and an assist to remember him by. Landon’s heading home to LA – LA Galaxy wouldn’t extend his loan spell – but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in an Everton shirt next season, even if it’s on another loan deal. He was a massive hit on Merseyside and I hope the experience put to bed any notions that he’s not good enough to cut it in Europe.
