Krasnodar 1-1 Everton – Europa League Group H – 2nd October 2014

Russia Soccer Europa League

A late Samuel Eto’o goal rescued a point for the Toffees on Thursday night after the Merseysiders had struggled against a quick and powerful Krasnador side.

The hosts went ahead just before half-time when striker Ari made the most of an error from Phil Jagielka and that goal was well deserved by the vibrant hosts. Indeed, it could and should have been much worse for the Toffees going in at the break.

In the second period the visitors once again had to tough it out but eventually they were rewarded for their hard work when Eto’o popped up to score from a Leighton Baines centre. That goal may not have been deserved but Roberto Martinez won’t be complaining, with his side now top of Group H.
