Everton 0-1 FK Krasnodar – Europa League Group H – 11th December 2014

Having already won the group, Everton boss Roberto Martinez sensibly decided to rest a number of his star men, with his young side going down by a single goal at home to Krasnodar.

The only goal of the game came on the half-hour mark, after Everton ‘keeper Joel Robles failed to adequately deal with Ricardo Laborde’s near-post shot. After a shaky first-half, the inexperienced hosts improved with left-back  Luke Garbutt particularly impressive. Another positive for Martinez was the sight of striker Arouna Kone completing a full 90 minutes on his return from long-term injury.

The Toffees can now look forward to the knockout stages of the competition having finished the group stages a point clear of Wolfsburg at the top of Group H.
