The Republic of Ireland produced a lacklustre performance at home to Georgia on Thursday night in Dublin. However, captain Seamus Coleman came to the rescue in the second-half, scoring the only goal of the game courtesy of a bizarre touchline run with more than a hint of FIFA 17 about it.
Picking up the ball on the right flank, the Everton full-back just keeps on running like a footballing Forrest Gump. After a couple of weak challenges and ricochets, Coleman ends up nudging the ball over the Georgian goal-line.

That strange but precious strike was Coleman’s first for the Irish in his 40th appearance for the Boys in Green. Although overall, Martin O’Neill’s side barely deserved it.
A couple of seasons ago Coleman was looking like a potential world class player with Everton. Maybe under Ronald Koeman maybe the Donegal man will kick on in his career and fulfill all his potential.
