Everton fans will no doubt be enthused to learn that Sam Allardyce has hereby officially left his role as manager of the club.
The break has not come cleanly however, with Allardyce reportedly “disgusted” by the Toffees’ decision to clear out their backroom staff while he was busy being presented with a special award at Tuesday night’s League Manager’s Association (LMA) awards dinner in London.
Indeed, the 63-year-old was busy being heralded by the LMA for reaching 1,000 games in professional management when Everton owner Farhad Moshiri pulled the plug with scant prior warning.
Allardyce still had 12 months left on his Goodison but, with fans regularly voicing their discontent over the predictably squalid football being played, it’s widely assumed that the club have been making arrangements in the background to bring Marco Silva in this summer.

As quoted by the Daily Mirror, this is how Big Sam reacted to the news:
I’m shocked, disappointed and disgusted that the football club didn’t have the decency to tell me, my Director of Football and my staff about the changes.
They must have been in the pipeline for a considerable time but no-one thought to tell me and my staff. I’m pretty disgusted.
I came into the football club with the team struggling and we have finished 8th in the table. I’m more than happy with what myself, my staff and the players have achieved from when I came in.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke. Perhaps worth remembering that Everton were undeniably stuttering but actually only 13th when he took the job back in November, having amassed 15 points from 14 games.
Taking them up into eighth is hardly the grand scale crisis prevention Corpulent Samuel is attempting to retrospectively dress the situation as, such is his wont.
