Everton won the third and final match of its pre-season tour Down Under, 2-1 against A-League’s Brisbane Roar. In doing so, they became the first English club to lift a trophy this season. Suck on that, Liverpool!

(Of course there’s no need to mention that it’s the Mickey Mouse… er, Roars Against Racism Cup. Whatever that is. Silverware is silverware.)

I always believed they could do it

considering liverpools potential this season it could well be the only cup on merseyside, (barring of course the everton ladies winning the league and couple double again).

Not true! Birmingham City have just won the etap trophy in Hong Kong 3-2 against a local side. A Mickey Mouse trophy I agree but a Birmingham fan will take any trophy!

  4. Ben says:

Syndex, we have not won the women’s league since 97/98, keep getting robbed by the Arse.

Michael, I think you’ll find Birmingham played on Sunday and Everton on Saturday, so we just pipped you there.

    The fans look thrilled

Just like to point out you barely beat a side that finished 1 point above bottom place last season, who lost a fair few of their outstanding performers and have barely played together so far.

Yeah, good luck with the season to come lads ;)

  7. Ben says:

Yeah, it is only pre season though, we still won, we were missing 7-8 first team players, we also beat the team that finished 1st and 2nd in the Australian League last year, 1-0 and 2-0 respectively.

Also, we normally lose to teams such as Bury and Cambridge United in pre season, so things ain’t that bad, winning all three games so far on the other side of the world, and getting a bit of fitness, and with no more injuries so far ;o)

This is a much better pre-season start for Everton, there has been no transfers getting in the way and fingers crossed the injury list is quite low.
