Photos: Everton 0-2 Benfica, Europa League

I placed several bets on Everton last night but they really let me down. I know they have a stupid amount of injuries to contend with, but Moyes’s side was very poor last night at Goodison; as poor as the Portuguese visitors were impressive.

So that’s 7-0 on aggregate (ouch) against Benfica, who have several very dangerous attacking players – Oscar Cardozo, Angel Di Maria, Javier Saviola, Pablo Aimar – and are a decent bet to go on and win the Europa League. Everton are still in a decent position to progress, but they badly need to start getting some more players off the treatment table and onto the pitch.
