Budweiser Announce FA Cup Games To Be Streamed Live On Facebook
By Chris Wright
The FA have announced that the oldest cup competition in the known universe, the FA Cup, is to undergo a bit of a technological revamp as of 2011/12 (this Friday night to be specific) with Ascot United’s preliminary cup tie against Wembley FC set to be streamed live on Facebook.
Facebook are ‘televising’ the clash, with the 90-minute stream provided by Budweiser – the American gnat-wazz merchants that are sponsoring the competition for the next three years.
Bud’s marketing director Ian Newell made these words come out of his mouth:
“As a long-standing supporter of football globally, Budweiser is committed to bringing the world’s most prestigious knockout competition closer to the fans.
“What better way to demonstrate this than by broadcasting the very first kick to a global audience via Facebook.
“This is the first time an Fa Cup tournament fixture has been broadcast live on the social network, which is great news for football fans and clubs alike.”
There are murmurs that a few more of the early-stage games are to be streamed in the same way, with teams such as Runcorn Linnets, Causeway Utd and Odd Down involved.
Question is, will you be watching?

I believe you mean ‘the Belgian gnat-wazz merchants’
Sounds good.
What if you’re a normal person ( like me) and have no need what so ever for Facebook?
