Remember when Clarence Seedorf was administered with the second red card of his 800+ game career against Madureira last weekend when he refused to leave the pitch in the “correct” direction? Well, the Dutch veteran could now be facing a whopping six-match suspension for his crimes.

Upon being substituted late in the game with Botafogo 2-1 up, Seedorf began trotting back to the bench and was then booked twice in a minute for twice disobeying the referee’s instruction to leave the field via the far touchline.

Brazil’s sports tribunal have seen fit to charge Seedorf with “unethical behavior and being disrespectful to the referee” after the ref, one Philip Georg Bennet, said in his post-match report that Seedorf called his decision a “joke”, and that the Botafogo midfielder said he would leave the pitch ”anywhere he wanted.”

Prosecutor Andre Luiz Valentim told local news: “The punishment could be up to six matches as well as a $50,000 (around £33,000) fine.”

Six games.

Six!

Suarez should probably thanks his lucky stars that he doesn’t play in Brazil then. He’d spend the entire season banned.

Is it me or is he going to receive a bigger fine than the Seriban FA did because their fans were making racist chants? Something isn’t right here.
