Switzerland 2022 Soccer WCup Announcement

Speaking in an interview with Swiss news outlet RTS, Sepp Blatter was asked if he thought handing the 2022 World Cup duties to Qatar was an error because of the Gulf atoll’s blistering 50ºc summer temperatures

Blatter replied: “Yes, of course. You know, everyone makes mistakes in life.”

“The technical report indicated clearly that it was too hot in summer,” he continued.

“But despite that, the executive committee decided with quite a big majority that the tournament would be in Qatar.”

Footage of the interview is available here.

True, but not everyone is allowed to make such huge errors of judgement in thier careers and get away with it. Never mind Sepp, you’ve only degraded the world’s most popular sporting event. The main thing you’re resposible for. No biggie.

Never mind the temperature, how about the dozens of workers that have already died building the stadiums? It’s a total farce to let a country like that host such a major event.
