Soccer - UEFA Europa League - Round of 16 - Second Leg - Athletic Bilbao v Manchester United - San Mames

With his side trailing 1-0 against Malaga in their opening La Liga fixture, Atheltic Bilbao goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz went yomping forward for a 95th-minute free-kick and promptly did this…

However, Iraizoz wasn’t given long to revel in the sweet, sweet abandon of joining the Goal-Scoring Keepers’ Club as heartless referee Antonio Mateu immediately disallowed the goal for a mystery infringement like a total b*stard.

The game duly finished 1-0 to Malaga and Iraizoz probably had to sob himself to sleep.

We hope you’re happy with yourself, Antonio.

Judging by the reactions of the three Malaga players closest to Iraizoz, it looks as though the linesman had his flag up. Maybe he attested that there was an offside as the ball was crossed, but very harsh – goal should have stood and Iraizoz should now be Bilbao’s top scorer!

ok i accept what @B13 said but surely there has to be a better reason….. i sadly watched that clip 20 times looking at each player and nowhere do i see anything wrong, apart from what B13 has said…. but that is just wrong

one thing i did notice from watching all thse times, half of the malaga players were appealing for something they knew nothing about, they just saw the linesman raise his flag and they raised their arms, so funny
