Norwich City supporters have been plagued by swarms of insects since the Canaries unveiled their new home kit, which is apparently ‘more yellow than ever’.

Whilst walking home from a recent pre-season friendly, many fans were ‘engulfed’ by the little black beetles (Meligethes aeneus, if you’re interested!) that are laying their eggs on the yellow shirts after mistaking them for pollen.

After the game, the BBC’s 606 message board was awash with Norwich fans that had all suffered the same fate whilst sporting the new kit, with one supporter complaining;

“When you wear your City shirt it attracts about a million tiny little black bugs. They were all over us today.”

Another fan added;

“Got absolutely engulfed in them today, annoying lot. I suppose a few thousand luminous yellow shirts didn’t help either.”

Don’t say that Pies never covers the BIG footballing issues!
