This seems a bit harsh – what would you have said if they’d cancelled the trip? I’d imagine some people will still want to see them, and maybe it will take their minds off the terrible tragedy for a while – if people don’t want to, they won’t go.
Possibly he could have phrased it better (and maybe I could have too), but he is a football manager not a professional diplomat.
    BTW I’m a Chelsea fan.

Uh, a week after 9/11 we had the NFL, MLB, and college sports back?

  6. Jon says:

They have a large Norwegian support?

  7. Paddy says:

Oh stfu about 9/11 the world doesnt revolve around america. More people die of starvation daily yet African players play every week.

  8. Montesquieu says:

Weren’t Leeds supporters stabbed a few years back for being ignorant of culture and local customs in Istanbul?

  9. Montesquieu says:

Not to be distasteful or tactless but Leeds should be the last to speak about any show going on, especially at how much they sensationalized (at least 50-50 guilt with British rags) the events which lead to the unfortunate death of those fans.

This is a much bigger event, caused by a crazed lunatic who thinks he’s saving Europe from Islam. Leeds should fuck off to backwater it came from.

  10. S-League Player says:

If we cancel our lives everytime some manic runs amok then WE will have helped them achieve their objectives: disruption to civilisation and normalcy as we know it. So, yes, the show should go on to prove that we shall not be cowed by the madness of certain individuals and their mindless agendas.
