Premier League Nears 20,000 Goal Mark – Barclays Release Nifty Goal-By-Goal Infographic

Sheffield United’s Brian Deane sneaks in between Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister to nod home past Peter Schmeichel and score the first ever Premier League goal against Manchester United at Brammall Lane

The Premier League is currently edging toward the 20,000 goal mark (the total currently stands 19,982, 18 goals shy) since Brian Deane opened the account on August 15th 1992 and, to celebrate, the top flight’s principle sponsors Barclay’s have put together a nifty infographic to mark the occasion – giving us a in-depth breakdown of goals per season, goals per city, goals per stadium, goals per player, etc, etc.

    Why does it say the City of Newcastle has 939 but Newcastle United has 961 ?

    No, that doesn’t make sense, does it? So, Newcastle United have outscored their opponents 939 to 22 in Newcastle/St. James’?
