Preston Boss Graham Westley Refunds Fans’ £40 Petrol Money After Bury Game Called Off (Video)
By Chris Wright
Preston boss Graham Westley was captured on camera going on a bit of a charm offensive at a petrol station in the North somewhere on Tuesday night, offering to refund a minibus full of Preston fans for their petrol money after North End’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match against Bury was cancelled due to the pitch being waterlogged.
Westley, who’s methods have come under question at times this season (texting players at 2am to tell them they’d been dropped for the next day’s match, etc), also bought everyone inside the bus a can of Coke to be going on with. Nice touch.
Now, it’s not exactly like they had far to go – Bury is about 20 miles down the road from Preston – but it’s the gesture that counts.
WARNING: There’s a bit of choice language in the video…
