In this morning’s ‘storm in a teacup’ news, Luis Suarez is supposedly in trouble with the FA after it was flagged up that the Uruguayan made an ‘inappropriate gesture’ towards the Fulham fans after Liverpool’s defeat at the Cottage last night…

Suarez took a merciless hounding from the home fans (‘cheat, cheat, cheat’, etc) after trying and failing to wean a penalty out of referee Kevin Friend in the second half and was more than happy to offer the Fulham fans his feedback on their constructive criticism as he left the pitch at the final whistle.

King Kenneth of the family Dalglish had this to say:

“I haven’t seen the picture and I’m not taking anybody’s word for it. If you show me the picture and I’m convinced that what you’re saying is true, then I’ve got a decision to make.”

“[Calling Suarez a cheat] is scandalous. We’ll look after Luis as best we can, and I think it’s about time he got a bit of protection from some people.

“His integrity is impeccable. He can look in the mirror and go to bed at night and sleep soundly.”

Hmmm.

Who gives a shit, and I’m a United fan.

  2. jon says:

We were giving him a lot worse than a finger last night who cares if he gives a little back? It just shows it got under his skin, something I’m quite happy with and it probably happened because he knows he is a cheat. Surely not even Liverpool fans can deny that?

  3. cajark says:

Every new day, I hate his guts a bit more than the day before

  4. chimpo says:

    his integrity is impeccable?

Myopia you have a new master

  5. sameertheprince says:

eh so? the FA is going to charge him for ‘improper conduct’ now? if so, they must charge JT or giggs first for their scandals, improper conduct my arse.

  6. AJM says:

As a United fan, I hope the FA continues to think of the poor, poor children and deals with him as they did with Rooney last year. Or, maybe they realize this is fucking stupid and move on. But if that’s not an option, he deserves the same ban then I’d imagine.

  7. bobbie says:

I expect it means something different in Uruguay…

  8. dan says:

jon, spot on. but keep your boy dempsey under control eh? what got into him?!?! never seen him flare like that before!! he and bellamy have history i take it

I too am a United fan, and… I just thought I’d add that.

  10. e212 says:

well if rooney got banned 3 games for what he did last season against west ham, than this guy surely deserves it too.
on the other hand, maybe showing middle finger means ‘good game guys’ back in uruguay where he comes from? lol…

  11. JJ says:

@Jon: In Uruguay that gesture means “I’ve got something for your wife, and she’s going to love it”.

  12. JJ says:

What kind of investigation was made by the FA, and how many games did Merieles get when he flipped the bird to the entire world (on camera) in the Arsenal game?

  13. dave says:

I get up half an hour earlier so i can hate him half an hour longer.

  14. Amtosh says:

Storm in a teacup alright. Spot the difference:

    – Rooney swore into a camera, straight at all the fans watching at home who had done nothing but tune in to watch the game.
    – Suarez gave some fans the finger who had been hounding him mercilessly all night at the stadium.

In the game against Arsenal when Meireles gave Lucas the finger, it was a joke in reference to the fact that Frimpong had given Lucas the finger earlier in the game.

Does that mean they both should have been banned?

    Lighten up FFS.

  15. RVP says:

The FA only approves of Nazi salute goal celebrations scored against Ceck goalkeepers. You know what with racism and all.

  16. Riley says:

    Who cares, he’s fucking brilliant

  17. BallsDeep says:

Suarez really needs to bang in a few goals now. Liverpool also need to start winning games as well.

For our Australian fules football we just hand out a fine, although we also dont get 100 grand a week so that would have to be a hell of a fine to even relise

    Excuses. Liverpool means excuses
