Fulham’s Riverside Stand as it…well, stands

The designs for Fulham’s prospective Riverside Stand expansion have been circulated ahead of the club’s application for planning permission being submitted.

Fulham are planning to build over the existing stand, removing pillars to improve the views from the lower tier, improve Craven Cottage’s facilities with a swanky new concourse area and, perhaps most importantly, increase the ground’s capacity by just over 4,000 – up to that magic 30,000 mark…

How about that? Pretty damn swish, no? Though it may stick out like a sore, space-age thumb considering the rest of the Cottage is the stadium equivalent of a Tudor half-timbered farmstead. Sadly, it also looks like that damn Michael Jackson statue is going to survive!

If it’s more photos of Fulham’s stadium redevelopment you seek, they’ve got loads (including a few architect’s sketches) over at the brilliant Stadium Porn.
