Premier League Photos: Fulham 1-0 Portsmouth – Fulham ‘Didn’t Even Deserve A Draw’
By Ollie Irish
According to Avram Grant, Fulham didn’t even deserve a draw, let alone all three points. He has a point (unlike his team) – Pompey played bold football, especially in the first half, and made the best chances but failed to beat Mark Schwarzer.
Fulham’s sucker punch came via a Jonathan Greening goal in the 74th minute, after new recruit Stefano Okaka had somehow missed with a header from two feet out.
So the Cottagers move back into the top half of the table, just, while Pompey remain bottom, still six points from safety. I still think Pompey could pull off a miracle escape, as Wolves, Hull and Burnley are all poor teams; and all three have a worse goal difference than the south-coast club.

Absolutely – and I say this as a Fulham Fan, unfortunately for Pompey they NEVER looked like scoring and we took one of our few chances. Without doubt Pompey had more skilled and flair individuals but didn’t gel as a TEAM – get this right and you’ll pull away from the relegation zone, if not you’ll go the way of so many sides ‘too good to go down’
