Fulham 2-3 Liverpool – Premier League – 12th February 2014

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Fulham v Liverpool - Craven Cottage

Coming on the back of the weekend’s thrashing of Arsenal, this dramatic comeback win puts Liverpool well and truly into title contention, with the Reds now just four points off the top. The Reds had to come from behind twice, first when Daniel Sturridge cancelled out an early Kolo Touré own-goal in the first half and then when Philippe Coutinho made it 2-2 on 72 minutes after Kieran Richardson had put the home side back in front. And then, at the death, Daniel Sturridge was felled in the box by Sascha Riether, with Steven Gerrard converting the resulting spot-kick. Poor old Darren Bent, however, will be rueing a missed chance on the half-hour mark which would have put the Whites 2-0 up but ultimately Liverpool’s push for all three points late on proved decisive. While Liverpool stay in the title race, Fulham stay bottom.
