Goalkeepers don’t have it easy, with simple mistakes often costing their team a goal. And on Tuesday night in the FA Cup fourth round replay, Fulham glovesman Marcus Bettinelli made an almighty mess of a simple catch.
The Cottagers were 1-0 up before the 22-year-old failed to deal with a simple catch from a Patrick van Aanholt centre, with the ball trickling into the Fulham goal. That OG, coming on 61 minutes, made the scores 1-1 with Sunderland going on to win the game 3-1. Ooops!
