Claudio Ranieri is reportedly set to be sacked by Fulham, having lost eight of his last nine matches in charge.

Brought in as a “risk free” replacement for Slavisa Jokanovic in mid-November, it looks like Ranieri’s reign is to last but 106 days – in which time no measurable improvement was made and the team still continue to wallow deep in the Premier League relegation mire.

According to the Mirror, the Italian held talks with the Fulham board on Thursday morning and the likely outcome is that he will be removed from his post before close of play on Thursday.

Whomsoever is up next has 10 games left to haul a faltering, porous side out of the bottom three with Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool all still to play.

Let’s be right – barring a miracle, they’re doomed. They’ve been doomed since before Ranieri took over.

Fulham valiantly attempted to carry over the fluid, attacking ethos that got them promoted from the Championship, but the harsh truth is that an attack that patchy and a defence that weak is never going to keep you in the top flight.

That’s a fake twitter account. Hope it’s true though.

Yeah, got caught out by a impostor. Article has been amended since.

It sounds like Ranieri is walking soon anyway.

It was a good fake account to be fair!

Just one point missed by most (because why would anyone watch Fulham every week except the fans) but Ranieri has been the antithesis to the attacking football we started the season with. Five at the back with Chambers in midfield has been so dour that he’s lost the crowd. Most of us would accept dying on the sword of attacking football, but we’re just a cut rate Burnley under Ranieri, with none of the requisite tools to perform in that way.

You might want to check that Twitter account… against the actual Fulham account – 16 tweets vs 51.3k tweets, guess which one is genuine
