Goal Of The Weekend: Super Samir Nasri Scores Super Winner vs Fulham (Video)

Super…

So the best goal in the Prem this weekend was scored by the best player in the Prem this weekend. Fitting. Superb feet in the build-up, even better composure to put the ball in the net. And an honourable mention to Robin van Persie for a delightful assist. All good really.

I’m far from the first person to say it, but Nasri is fast becoming Arsenal’s most important player, above and beyond even Cesc Fabregas.

Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger insists Nasri will only get better, which is a mouthwatering thought for Gooners:

“[When Nasri first came to England] He was a bit too much attracted by the ball and we wanted him to do more once off the ball, go in behind without the ball, because we have many players who can keep the ball.

“Many people questioned me when I took him here but he is showing that he is an exceptional talent and I think there is more to come from him.”

If Nasri stays fit, I fully expect him to make the Player of the Year shortlist. He’s also a decent bet to win it, although place your bets now – he’s already come in to 8/1.

Are we all ignoring van Persie being offside?

But Van Persie was offside when the pass came into him. Shouldn’t have counted.

  4. UnScouser says:

I think cesc has mentally checked out. I don’t see the appeal of Barca’s bench where he’ll end up if the transfer goes through.
