Not that it was a particularly easy ride, but Fulham put themselves in a strong position to finish off their second Europa League qualifier tie against Crusaders at the Cottage by way of a 3-1 win in Belfast last night.

Matthew Briggs tonked in the opener for Fulham from range, though Timmy Adamson drew the Northern Irish semi-pros level after pulling the ball down from the ether, juggling it over his marker and then applying a smart, volleyed finish ten minutes after the interval.

From what we can gather, the Crues took the game to Fulham for long stretches with the Cottagers largely restricted to pot-shots – but the Premier League side eventually hustled their way to a deceptively comfortable-looking final scoreline thanks to a header from Bobby Z and the obligatory Danny Murphy penalty.
