Doing The Splits: Fulham & Stoke Into Europa League Play-Offs With Second-Leg Wins (Highlights)

Both Fulham and Stoke secured themselves a spot in the Europa League play-off stages with second-leg victories over RNK Split and Banana Hajduk Split respectively last night.

Coming into the game on the back of a goalless draw in Croatia, a near-post Andy Johnson header and the now-mandatory Danny Murphy penalty saw Fulham emerge victorious by two goals to nil at the Cottage and maintain their unbeaten run in the preliminary stages in the process…

Stoke led 1-0 going into last night’s game thanks to Jonathan Walters’ goal at the Britannia, and a late own goal from Ljubo Milicevic secured the Potters a 2-0 aggregate victory at the Stadion Poljud…

Both sides now face a two-legged play-off on 18th and 25th August to seal a place in the Europa League proper.
