Safe to say that Nuno Matos, the commentator for Portuguese radio station Antena 1, really enjoyed Cristiano Ronaldo’s second goal against the Dutch the other night – so much so, in fact, that at one point the only way he can accurately describe the immense joy coarsing through him is with LASERS!

If you’ve been wandering what complete and utter apoplexy sounds like, give this a listen..

“OBRIGADO OBRIGADO PYEW PYEW GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL RONALDO PYEW PYEW!”

He just gave joy to millions of portuguese. He just gave joy to millions of portuguese. This goal is for you, everywhere around the world, it’s for me, it’s for the portuguese, GOAL RONALDO. GOAAAALLLLL from Portugal from Portugal from Portugal. In the name of every portuguese I thank you Cristiano Ronaldo”

The name of the journalist is Nuno Matos and not Nuno Metas :P

    Regards from Portugal

It’s not something you get with the likes of Jon Champion, is it.

The guy was literally in euphoria!

  4. Nuno says:

Actually, I believe that radio station passes those “laser” sounds in every goal scored. Just a simple addition to the gooooooooooooooooooooooooal. Not yet on the level of Tiziano Crudelli, mind, but still one has to ask how these guys don’t have a heart attack live on tv/radio…
