In their endless quest for realism, EA Sports have gone to extreme lengths to capture all the subtle nuances that make up this strange game we all love so much and cram them inside the new FIFA 15 game like so many digitally-rendered anchovies in…err…sorry, we can’t think of any way to finish that one.
Anyway, to that end – having downloaded the FIFA 15 demo yesterday, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo noticed that EA Sports have even seen fit to include the Catalan “Independencia’ chants which ring round the Camp Nou stadium 17 minutes and 14 seconds into every Barcelona home game.
The significance being that 1714 was the year in which Catalonia’s independence was abolished and Catalan institutions (including the flag and the language) were outlawed by King Philip V at the end of the War of Spanish Succession.
It’s not the best quality, but you can just about make out FIFA 15’s “Independencia” chants on this video…
Here’s the real deal…
That’s some impressive attention to detail right there!
Also, this…
No word yet on whether Real Madrid have had their “Juanito” chant (sung in the 7th minute of every home game in tribute to their former striker) included as well in the interest of cross-Clasico equality.
