Well, that was the appalling I Believe by Thai-American singer Tata Young. It dates from 2004, but for some reason has been re-hashed to be the official song of the Asian Cup 2007. Not that us English can talk. Anyone remember the offical song to Euro 96? Answer after the jump, pop pickers.

If you went for Three Lions by Baddiel, Skinner and the Lightning Seeds, you were wrong. The official song of the tournament was in fact the awful We’re In This Together by Simply Red. Award yourself one pat on the back if you got that right!

I remembered it as the one with the Spice Girls and Echo & The Bunnymen supergroup. Classic stuff… how did it go again?

How does it feel… to be on top of the world!
Classic indeed, but that was the official England song for France 98. Might have to dig that out some time!
