“AVAST!”
Southampton have confirmed that the club have suspended striker Dani Osvaldo after the Argentinian striker reportedly ‘head-butted’ centre-back Jose Fonte during a training session earlier in the week.
The alleged incident took place during a training match at Staplewood on Thursday and, though Southampton have refused to comment on the specifics, the Daily Mail are claiming that a club source told them that “there was blood everywhere” and that the offence Osvaldo laid on Fonte was “brutal”.
According to Pies insider source, Osvaldo became incensed when scurvy landlubber Fonte questioned the striker’s need for an eyepatch, threw his favourite sextant in the sea and then helped himself to a flaggon of his favourite grog without asking permission.
Speaking via an official statement, the Saints confirmed that Osvaldo – who is already serving a three-match ban for his tangle with Newcastle’s entire back-room staff back in mid-December – has been suspended by the club for two weeks.
Things are going great so far Dani; keep it up!
