You may have noticed that, after nodding home the only goal against Ukraine last night, Wayne Rooney celebrated with a little ‘hairspray’ charade – pretending to spritz his wispy £30,000 doormat…

And lo, Rooney explained the gesture after the game: “I asked to use a bit of Andy Carroll’s hair product before the game. He asked me to score a header. Hopefully I’ll end up with hair like him!”

Pundit Jamie Carragher then countered over in the ITV studio, stating that no lad from Croxteth should be mincing around with ‘product’ in his hair.

Touché.

Really Jamie… they’re pretty orange up there

I’ve noticed in interviews that Rooney has contracted Gerrard’s “erm”.

Conversely, Gerrard appears to be rid of it.
