Horror Hair Special: AfCoN 2013 Edition

By Chris Wright

Now that the tournament is done and dusted, we feel the only way to mark the AfCoN’s passing is to compile a round-up over the very worst Horror Hair on display in South Africa over the last few weeks.

WARNING: Peroxide is obviously big in Africa this year (click for the biggies)…

By the look on Siphiwe Tshabalala's face and his rapidly receding hairline, that thing must weigh a ton.

When I first saw the video of Kidiaba celebrating, I noticed the weird ‘handle to grab to hold my head up high’ coif before I realized he was bouncing about on his ass.
But Gayan’s ‘carve my number in my hair’ monstrosity must be among the worst player hair ‘styles’ of all time.

  2. jojo says:

Good god, that bleached goatee is just the worst of the worst. I feel violated by just watching that. Future horror hairs will have to compete with this abomination.

  3. bear says:

Aha, aren’t those coloured chaps and their bizarre hairstyles funny, what? Chortle.

  4. Graham says:

    Agreed with Mr. bear.
Some of these observations seem to toe the line…

  5. gundubaja says:

That awkward moment when your Mrs gives birth to something resembling Aristide Bance ….

  6. bigpapapump says:

Don’t really see what’s wrong with Annan’s hairstyle. Quite common where I’m from.

  7. scissors says:

@bear You wouldn’t say that if they were white.

  8. Fat Nakago says:

I did not know that Asamoah Gyan was such a big Dale Earnhardt fan.

  9. Lukass says:

Is it just me, or does the thing etched on one side of Gyan’s head resemble the euro sign more than the number 3? I feel that some Sunderland fans will be with me on this one…

  10. polonywarrior says:

That awkward moment when your daughter brings home Isaac Vorsah for dinner.

  11. hairpalace says:

That is a real nightmare. He looks like someone from another planet.

  12. I guess he is really from another planet, but welcome on earth.
