“Gnnnrrrrrr. We would have got a draw if it wasn’t for those pesky kids.”

Word on the street (i.e. the internet) is that permatanned knobhead (© Pies) Phil Brown has been sacked by Hull City (yes, he has – it’s official now, though the club calls it ‘gardening leave’). Brian Horton and Steve Parkin will fill in for now. Oh joy.

The news isn’t a massive shock – the Tigers are mired in the relegation zone, and after a crushing loss to Arsenal at the weekend (in which Hull actually played very well for one half minus Mad George Boateng), plus news of the embarrassing Jimmy Bullard vs Nicky Barmby set-to in front of a bunch of Women’s Institute members, it seems like the club’s suits have finally had enough of their Marmite gaffer.

UPDATE Brown’s sacking has been confirmed by the club on their official website.

So, no end-of-season survival karaoke to look forward to. Shame – and Phil had just bought a big house with a Buck Rogers toilet.

Hull fans, you happy to see the back of your outspoken manager?
