World Cup heartbreak for Sven and Becks’ England, as Brazil proved too strong – even after Ronaldinho was sent off, undeservedly, in the 58th minute for a foul on Danny Mills – in the afternoon heat of Japan.
To be fair, Brazil deserved to win. They had twice as many shots on target as England and at 2-1 up and with ten men, they never looked like losing to an England team that simply ran out of steam and ideas. But then a team featuring Darius Vassell, Trevor Sinclair and Danny Mills – they all played a part – was never going to go on and win the World Cup – quarter finals was a fair reflection of this England’s ability.

What i remember from this game is the fact that john motson would not shut up about how the fact that everyone back in england would be tucking into their breakfast while watching it. He must of said it ten times during the first 15 mins!!!!
