Created by renowned micro-artist Quentin Devine to help launch a new pre-World Cup series on Dave, ‘England’s Top 19 Footy Heroes’ – here’s the faces of England stars Paul Gascoigne, David Beckham, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney carved into Brazil (geddit?) nuts…

Apparently each nut took Devine approximately 96 hours to carve, using nowt but a scalpel and a magnifying glass.

“The nuts can be very oily and extremely brittle but I think I managed to successfully capture the essence of each these football heroes,” said Devine.

“My final piece, Gary Lineker, proved to be a tough nut to crack with his large ear span reducing the already tiny surface area I had to work with.

“After over 20 attempts, many broken ears and all hope lost, I finally perfected it.”

There’s some decent likenesses there too, considering they’re chiselled out of oily little nuts and all.
