The grand old monarch of Japanese football and the world’s oldest professional footballer, Kazuyoshi Miura, has signed a new contract that will take him past his 50th birthday.
With King Kazu due to celebrate his half-century at the end of February, it’s been announced that Yokohama FC have granted him a new one-year contract extension.

Yokohama announced the news on the 11th of January to pay homage to Miura’s iconic shirt number.
Last year, they announced his new deal at 11:11am local time, on the 11th November for the very same reason.
