At the age of just 24, Andrew Robertson has been revealed as the new captain of the Scotland national side.

The announcement was made shortly after manager Alex McLeish confirmed his squad for upcoming games against Belgium and Albania.

With his bombarding overlaps and tireless work ethic, the Liverpool left-back has quickly become a staple at club level and now, it would appear, at international level too.

The Scottish FA broke the news with a nice retrospective video, marred ever so slightly by near-unlistenable bagpipe accompaniment…

Robertson takes up the armband from 55-cap veteran Scott Brown, who retired from international duty for the second time back in February having already called time on his involvement with Scotland once before in August of 2016.

It’s been a marvellous meteoric season-and-a-bit for Robbo, and we’re sure there’s still plenty more left in the tank.
