The French civil service have stepped in to prevent a couple from naming their new baby after their two favourite members of France’s World Cup winning team.

According to AFP, the authorities intervened after the new parents from Brive attempted to name their son “Griezmann Mbappe”.

The service tasked with ensuring children’s names are in the best interest of the child have flagged the case of “Griezmann Mbappe” to local prosecutors.

If it is deemed that the name could lead to the child facing problems, prejudice, etc, in later life, the service can legally order the parents to change their baby’s name to something deemed more suitable.

Might we suggest something classier like “Hugo Deschamps-Areola” instead?

First of all, those parents shouldn’t even be allowed to have kids. Or dogs. Cats…? nobody should have cats. I fucking hate cats.

It’s a no brainer, just go with “Kante Fekir” and be done with it.
