Yokohama FC have announced that Kazuyoshi Miura, who holds the Guinness World Record as the oldest active professional footballer in the world, has signed a new contract extension going into the 2019 season – the 34th campaign of his long and vaunted career.
King Kazu, who turns 52 in February, confirmed that he has signed on for another season with Yokohama FC, the second-tier side he originally joined as a sprightly 38-year-old striker back in 2005.

It’s perhaps worth noting that Miura is on the Yokohama books as a full-blown player, not a player-coach or anything like that, and managed 11 appearances in all competitions last season though he didn’t manage to score.
Over three decades in and The King is still chugging along. How he’s still got the knees for it is a constant source of amazement.
In fact, once he’s retired (if that day should ever come), his ligaments should be collected and studied for medical science.
