Aw, look at that pretty sash. Matches Deuce’s eyes.

So, the shorts should be dark blue and the shirt doesn’t need that oh-so-subtle sash. Apart from that, it’s fine.

This is the home kit that the USA will wear in South Africa next summer, and it’s supposedly an homage worn by the States at the 1950 World Cup:

Bit of a washed-out tribute, methinks – the original looked way cooler. This is an altogether uninspiring effort by Nike – it’s time manufacturers stopped plundering past designs and created something new from scratch. Too many retro kits these days.

that grey sash is gross! if you’re going to go with the sash go all out and make it blue or red

  2. kaya says:

You blog people are so creative… any sash looks beauty pagent in that case… Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the jersey. I’ve never cared for such blah plain white jerseys and the “accent” doesn’t do anything cool for it (unlike that of the German national jersey.) So I just think it’s boring… but calling it beauty paegent material is overkill.

this is awful. having said that, as an australian i can assure you that australia’s will be worse whenever it is revealed.

eh, i’m american and these are pretty weak..

more than the sash, it’s the fact that they can’t go with a design and stick with it, then make minors tweaks to it. italy – solid blue forever. holland – solid orange forever. u.s. – horizontal stripes, now sash.. pick one and stick to it!! there’s not a lot of tradition in the sport, but they should start some at some point.

and the last ones, with the horizontal stripes is by far the superior.

I got the old kit around a month before the Confed Cup for a tenner at JJB’s… bet this one will be a bit dearer.

well, im english but i have the old us jersy (the blue one with the white stripes and i think thats a great lookin top, why not keep that one?

USA kits getting worse and worse. At least we’ll be wearing the blue away kit when we play England in their nifty tailored white.

pretty weak nike…not very happy with it. had heard good things previously and had a good image in my mind….just to be let down. if a throwback is what they were going with they should have gone with ’94 wc kits…now there’s a sick jersery

  11. […] we reported last year, the USA kit template does indeed have a ‘beauty queen’ sash down the front, both on […]

  12. Yahzee says:

Totally agree. I loved the uniform for the 2002 World Cup… this one looks lame, also in the last World Cup they did the same retro design and we ended up with another failure not qualifying even for the second round
