Neymar, Ganso & Pato Launch New Nike Brazil 2012/13 Kits – May Or May Not Be Yellow (Photos)
By Chris Wright
Nike have just launched the new home and away Brazil kits for 2012/13 and roped in a few of their young flock – Neymar, Ganso and Pato (in photo form) – to perform the ribbon-cutting duties…
A few details worth noting: Each shirt is made from 13 recycled plastic bottles and contains a raft of ‘hidden accents’, including an ‘inspirational statement’ (lord, how I love marketing speak) for the players stitched inside the green cuffs reading ‘Nascido Para Jogar Futebol’ (Born To Play Football) in ‘Pichacao’ – a type of scribbly Brazilian graffiti. Very nice.
There is also a large stylised CBF badge printed on the inside back of every shirt to represent something or other. Perhaps how sweaty a week in Brazil will make your back? I don’t rightly know.
Over to you Pies fans, Yay or Nay(mar)? It’s a big ‘Yay’ from Pies, though Nike would have to go out of their way to screw up a Brazil kit in our eyes.

I remember the good old days when an international kit would last 4 years and actually be used in a tournament. Oh well.
Not sure about this. Up close it looks great, and I love the matte look.
But something about it makes the shirt and shorts clash – they look like two different kits. Nike have managed to make the classic yellow-top/blue-shorts combo look weird. (Though the 2nd/away kit is great).
I think Puma would do a better job of it personally.
nice
Neymar really does need to cut that hair.
i definitely dont like the green at the end of the sleeves. should have left them yellow
i defeinitelly say YAY to this
Meh.
It looks like EVERY other Brazil kit.
would have gone with blue on the cuffs, makes the shorts seem wrong
@Connor have you ever seen a Brazil kit before?
Boca Juniors’ shirt look alike
Got Cuff?
Fucking terrible, as usual.
In a board room deep in a bunker below the Nike world headquarters:
Rich white guy 1: We need more money, I have to make the payment on my sportscars’ mansion
Rich white guy 2: We should release the same kit every two years despite the circumstances, fans are idiots and they’ll buy everything
Rich white guy 1: Brilliant! But we’ll need to alter them slightly, so they look damn new
Rich white guy 2: Hmm, lets take the sleeve accents and make them a bit bigger. We can use all the same materials, all we have to do is retitle the jersey and use a bit more of one color than before
What happened to the black Batman-looking kits ?
@Ryan – Think they were Charity shirts to be used in a one off game, they were however one the best creations in football shirt culture, wish I could have got one to fulfill my Ninja Football Fantasy
Hate the cuffs, however, it looks like this year’s thing for Nike.
