Nike Portugal 2012 Away Kit - Chest detail

While it definitely gets Pies’ seal of approval, we can’t help but feel that it blends in with just about every Portugal away kit for the last two decades. White + a smattering green and red bits, though the cross (a Portuguese national symbol) is a really classy detail. It’s a tried and true formula, even if it’s becoming just a little repetitive.

What sayeth thou Pies fans? ‘Sim, Sim!’ or a big fat ‘Não!’

    What’s the Portuguese for “meh”?

  2. Cruz says:

    The portuguese “meh” is “meh”.

  3. Mr. Sparkle says:

All the kits this year are pretty bland. The sun flaring from the cross is just retarded.

  4. Nike Representative says:

    Dear Mr Sparkle,
The Sun won’t be included when you buy the jersey. There should therefore be no reason to be nothing less than ecstatic about the jersey.
    Kind regards,
    Nike

  5. JLBK says:

You guys are crazy! Simple and Sleek is the only way to go. These all look great. I would take the classic and clean look over the busy 90’s geometric sh*t any and every day.

  6. Daniel says:

Don’t like the religious nature of Portugal’s crest or that of any country that uses crosses, crescent moons ‘n’ stars or star of davids. Sport and religion should be separate. The crest could trun off Muslim, Jewish and Non-believer Portuguese footballers for playing for the NT.

  7. Caleb says:

    @ Daniel

lol, tell that to Rangers and Celtic, and see if you still have a head afterwards

  8. werderbremen_rulez says:

Germany’s is actually pretty good classic green-white.

However, this one … thanks, but no, thanks! They’ll be nailed to that cross before the 4er finals, no doubt!

  9. Shane says:

I dont think Ive liked a Portugal away strip since the classy black one from world cup 06

  10. Scott says:

    @Daniel

I don’t like your anti-religious views. That aside the cross is a national symbol. Sooo…it probably won’t turn off anyone that can play for Portugal. I think that there should be a separation of Daniel and sports.

  11. sloth says:

I think every football match should be played with the home side wearing solid black kits and the away side solid blue, with no adornment, labels, crests, sponsors, etc. Additionally, every footballer should be made to shave his head and face, and must be banned from having any tattoos. I find shapes and colours offensive.

  12. Mr. Sparkle says:

The worst part of this jersey, which hasn’t been mentioned yet, is that’ll look obscene on the average football fan (think beer guzzling-pie/prawn sandwich eating Joe).
