Arsenal 2012/13 Stripy Away Kit Leaked – Gunners Plan For Purple Patch On The Road (Photo)
By Alan Duffy
For many Gooners it’s simple really – home kits should be red and white, away ones yellow and blue. But not for the Arsenal marketing bods, who aren’t shackled by tradition or, arguably, taste.
The new away strip has, like so many other club kits, been leaked over the old internet thingy. Here are Wojciech Szczęsny and, a player who Arsene Wenger will no doubt refer to as a “new-signing” ahead of the new season, Jack Wilshere. What do you think, Arsenal fans – purple patch or er… purple pain?

Aaaaah….. my eyes !!
The keeper kit is not so bad, but I struggle to understand why Nike won’t stick to a tradional kit. This stripy purple thing is a huge letdown!
Some of the away shirts this season are terrible. Villa’s lime green monstrosity, Liverpool’s wetsuit/3rd kit and United’s body turban…what is going on?
I like the players kit but the keeper kit.. Maybe its just the way Szczesny is stood and how he is looking at me like a guy from across the bar but it looks a little camp.
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.
Both the home and away kits are terrible this season. They won’t be getting my money then. Their loss.
I think Nike are taking the proverbial, makes me think the rumors are true and Adidas are replacing them as kit maker from 2013-2014 onwards. After seeing this effort it can’t come quick enough.
Their marketing slogan for this is “Purple Reign” … no really.
I Like It it just because he has tucked it away better than last season..
they need to get the original red, sick of looking like Liverpool and ManU with white sleeves..
@John C I hadn’t heard that rumor yet, but I am with you and the fact that it couldn’t come soon enough.
I like the purple stripes (I like purple; I like stripes).
Not sure about the orangey bits, but maybe.
The goal keeping kit looks like a pajamas. Pretty terrible stuff from Arsenal. Also Chris, not to nit pick but should it be read “…home kits should be read and white” and not “…home kits should be read and while”.
Tied with Liverpool for worst change strip. The keeper strip isn’t bad, but how can the keeper wear it if the other team’s colors preclude the Gunners wearing their first choice red and white and (unfortunately) navy blue.
@Andre – yes, it was Chris’ typo but I have now changed it :)
purple pain hahahahahaha
Dammit … I can’t stand any of our kits this year … oh well, Nike shooting themselves in the foot.
Let’s boycott this drivel!
My support of Arsenal doesn’t stretch to looking like a twat wearing that disgusting top.
Is..Is.. Jack Wilshere crying in that photo?! could hardly blame him
why do they have to change kits every year. If they have a good one, keep it the same.
2010 2011 away was great
Connor you can now support Everton. No trophies either but a classy away strip. COYB!
reminds me of the Cheshire cat from Alice in wonderland (the disney cartoon version)
@ sh:
Because if looks like last year’s shirt there’s no incentive to buy this year’s shirt.
