Lionel Messi and his girlfriend Antonella Rocuzzo welcomed a little baby son into the world on Friday night, and they called him Thiago – after Leo’s heroes: Mr T and the parrot from Aladdin.
Here’s ‘the happiest man in the world’ arm-in-arm with the doctor who delivered young Thiago into the world, a man who looks suspiciously like Iker Casillas…
While most babies have to make do with a towel or, at best, a nappy as their first item of clothing, it seems Simba Thiago is already being prepped for great things…
Something tells us that shirt will still be a bit baggy on the wee bairn when he makes his Barcelona debut in 16 years time.

here’s a cool fact guys:
Messi’s son was born today (02-11-2012) and precisely 869 days after Cristiano Ronaldo’s son (17-06-2010). Messi and Ronaldo birth dates are also separated by the exact same time: 869 days (24-06-1987 vs 05-02-1985 hehe nice !
The only thing we know for certain is that Ronaldo Jr and Thiago will eventually play against Ryan Giggs.
That doctor looks more like Steve Carrell to me. Is Thiago named after Messi’s teammate? Just out of curiosity.
The worst bit is that he will eventually play for Spain. Let’s hope he turns out to be like Jordi Cruyff.
Alright. First thing — that doc never even met Antonella. He’s just an Argentine doc who works at the hospital, got a pic with Messi, put it on his FB and from there it spread.
Second: Antonella and Leo just liked the name Thiago. Kid’s not named after Alcantara. There was some speculation as to whether he was named after a good mate and cousin of Leo’s in Argentina, but Messi’s said it’s just a nice name and they both liked it. Messi himself was incidentally named after Lionel Richie.
