Neymar was press-ganged into launching Brazil’s brand spanking new 2013 home strip at Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana beach yesterday, which is to be worn in anger for the first time against England at Wembley next Wednesday.

As you can see, Nike have played the retro card; opting for a very unfussy design, free of redundant green blocks and the like – and, yes; before you start worrying, the shorts do have an inner mesh gusset to aid comfort. Phew.

The 2013 Brazil kit will be available from February 1st from Nike stores and on Nike.com.

For what it’s worth, we like it – though any variation on the Brazil strip usually goes down pretty well with us seeing as though it’s a classic of the genre and, while we got off to a rocky start, we must say that Nike’s current penchant for the oversized cuff is beginning to grow on us.

What are we saying folk? Sambalicious or just plain old ‘meh’?
